Step 2: Enter the required information (names, emails)

Step 3: For sending: upload your file. For requests: the recipient receives an upload link

Step 4: Recipients get an email with a secure download/upload link

Yes! Security is our top priority:

  • All files are stored securely using Amazon S3 with industry-standard encryption
  • We use AWS SES for secure email delivery
  • Files are stored in a private, non-public S3 bucket
  • Download links are time-limited (10 minutes) for added security
  • We never share your data with third parties

All files are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the US-East region. Our infrastructure uses:

  • AWS S3 for secure file storage
  • AWS DynamoDB for file metadata
  • AWS SES for email delivery

The maximum file size is 100MB per transfer. This limit ensures fast uploads and reliable delivery for most common file types.

We support most common file types including:

Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, CSV

Archives: ZIP, RAR, 7Z

Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF

Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI

Files are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity. This ensures your data doesn't accumulate indefinitely and helps maintain security.

Yes! Lock-Box.io is currently free to use. We're providing this service to make secure file sharing accessible to everyone.
